so, there have been studies done that prove we die sooner. there have been studies done to prove the opposite. i'm wondering where YOU think we fit in.

some of the studies that show we die sooner were debunked because they concluded that out of 100 80 yr. olds, only 1 was lefthanded. could that be due to fascism of long ago when they made everybody right handed? or is it becuase they died sooner?

in this day and age, we aren't discouraged to use our left hand the way they were 20, 50, 100 years ago.

or...could it be that we are such enigmatic people that there is a secret society plotting to rid the world of us? (mwuahahahaha!~)

what say the lefties?!?!?!

supposedly, a small percentage of that statistic is from southpaws using right handed items. apparantly using right handed items can be fatal in some instances. I dont really know how, but I do remember reading that somewhere...guiness maybe ? I'll look around.

I've always heard it was because lefties are more accident-prone. Personally, I'm a total klutz...but I don't know if I can really attribute that to being lefthanded or not.

What I really want in life is a fucking lefthanded punch ladle. Jesus, do you know how many linoleum floors I've had to clean up because of sticky punch pouring out from the "wrong" side?!

          Mm..no.

playin guitar (ala jimi hendrix, and kurt cobain) when I was in a band, we went to see megadeth and Corrosion of Conformity. Well, this was at the Key Arena (40,000+ people). we were in the front row. at the very end, The singer asks if there are any guitar players in the audience who would like to come up and jam. Needless to say, all of my bandmates started pointing at me. So the guitar player is lookin at me, offering his guitar. well this is a dream come true, and I would give my left nut to play with these guys, but as I am a leftie, it totally wouldnt have worked. I had to respectfully decline.

          *sigh*

if I want to buy a fender, it would be about $150 more for the EXACT SAME STINKIN GUITAR. a gibson would be $300 more.

i find left handed guitar great though. i play, and leaning up against a right handed guitarist can give a cool and very cheesy pose while playing of the opposing necks of the guitars pointing out. finding guitars is more of a challenge and costlier, but sure beats trying to go right-handed on it (i started trying to play a right-handed when i first learned for convenience, but it was anything but).

didn't jimi hendrix just hold a rightie guitar upside down and play it that way? that's the way i do violin

yeah, jimi hendrix did in fact play a right-handed guitar upside-down. i tried, found it difficult because i started taking classes back in the day and it was just easier to restring and/or get a left-handed guitar.

Actually, us lefties are "proper" eaters, because americans eat backwards. you're supposed to hold the fork in the left hand and the knife in the right hand. That's why the table is set that way, but americans, being americans, switch them over to eat. it's easier to show in person, but ettiquite class was so much easier being a lefty. don't ask why they made me take ettiquite class...

It's been said that lefthanders recover better from strokes, presumably because we've been forced to learn to adapt to so many things for so long.

-sigh- its ashamed sooner or later there will be more and more lefties..it will become too commin, left handed ppl are definitly smarter more artistic, just look at the famous artist, musicians, world leaders..sooner or later the goverment will realize the potential of leftys and limit them somehow, i just feel we are gifted ppl and should be proud to be left handed
